I have installed it in ubuntu 8.04 64bit architecture following Jerson step but got some problem registering a new gizmo name. It prompts a “Security image error: Connection Lost”. Any help regarding this problem is highly appreciated. Thanks.

Its working perfectly in ubuntu 8.04 64 bit. But i had to install it manually. And after step #6 i paste the line that Neil gave us.
sudo cp /usr/lib/libsipphoneapi.so.1.7.07.73 /usr/lib32

There must be something different with Ubuntu 8.04. I have not yet upgraded my system to 8.04, but when I do get around to doing that I will see if I can make a new script that can install the 32bit Gizmo .deb onto 64 bit 8.04.

If I run the following command after using the installer script the gizmo will run:

sudo cp /usr/lib/libsipphoneapi.so.1.7.07.73 /usr/lib32

but now it has another issue, it keeps giving me a “Connection Lost” message when I try to log in.

I just tried this on Ubuntu 8.04. The installer went through fine but I get the following when trying to run gizmo:

gizmo: error while loading shared libraries: libsipphoneapi.so.1.7.07.73: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I hope this actually works for people. I haven’t gotten any feedback yet. It is a fairly crude solution, but it should take away the need to type anything other than a password into the terminal window.

i don’t use 64 bit (yet)

but i got some people that were looking for this.
